Sodium bicarbonate has historically been one of the most frequently administered medications during cardiac arrest, with <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/ccmjournal\/abstract\/2019\/02000\/trends_over_time_in_drug_administration_during.7.aspx\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/ccmjournal\/abstract\/2019\/02000\/trends_over_time_in_drug_administration_during.7.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prior study <\/a>reporting its use in approximately 40\u201350% of cardiac arrest cases.
