I was not! It was very simple to me. A 78 years old neurologist said \u201cI\u2019m afraid to go to the emergency room,\u201d he added. \u201cI think it\u2019s dangerous.\u201d I agree that this is not a good comment for general population to make patients be afraid to go to &#8220;ED&#8221; but the JAMA publication in May 2015 showed that ED is a good place to detect Stroke patients early!<\/p>\n<p>Care and Outcomes of Patients With In-Hospital Stroke.<span id=\"scm6MainContent_ucArticleContent_rptSections_lblSection_0\" class=\"Abstract 0\"> 973 patients with in-hospital stroke and 28\u202f837 with community-onset stroke<\/span>. T<span id=\"scm6MainContent_ucArticleContent_rptSections_lblSection_0\" class=\"Abstract 0\">hose with in-hospital stroke had a longer median length of stay following stroke onset (17 vs 8 days; <i>P<\/i>\u2009&lt;\u2009.001) also longer time from stroke recognition to administration of thrombolysis (median, 2.0 vs 1.2 hours; <i>P<\/i>\u2009&lt;\u2009.001.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/archneur.jamanetwork.com\/article.aspx?articleid=2277721\">Link to article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recent post in NY Times,\u00a0 Stroke of Fate , offended many ED physicians.
