Position of Head in Stroke

A recent research question on the relationship between head-of-bed positioning and clinical deterioration in patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke was addressed in the June edition of JAMA. Only a small number of studies have examined this topic in recent years. The current study demonstrated that a 0° head position was superior to a 30° position in maintaining clinical stability among patients with LVO stroke who were candidates for thrombectomy and awaiting definitive treatment.
