There are two studies published by American Journal of Emergency Medicine and European Journal of Emergency Medicine on this topic. Turgut and Yauz reported that CPAP lowered the amount of CO in the blood faster than the mask on 45 patients. Bal et al. reported that CPAP therapy may be an effective option for oxygen therapy among patients with carbon monoxide intoxication. Their study was on 43 patients.
